The idea for this recipe came from a peanut butter oatmeal banana cookie recipe that was floating around on Pinterest. We tried it out and found that it was so easy and so cheap that I was making them as a healthy snack every day.
We've tried mixing up the flavours by adding dates, raisins, vanilla, and cinnamon. Dates have been our favourite so far. We tried swapping out the bananas for applesauce a couple of times. The applesauce cookies were ok, but we did prefer the banana ones. We've used quick oats and large flake oats and both worked fine.
After all of the trials what we ended up with was an even easier two ingredient recipe. The cookies don't keep very well (but they don't have to in our house) and have an interesting kinda chewy texture.
How Cheap Are These Cookies?
That's under $0.04 each!
